So dad brings his 00 over the other day and says i have this squeeling noise when i take off under good amount of throttle. I get in and it is in between the front 2 seats and it only happens for about 2 seconds right when you take off. Checked u-joints they are good trans mounts ok. Any ideas? Not a big deal at the moment since i dont have to listen to it cause its not my jeep but i know dad will hound me about it again soon.

 

the belt could be loose and slipping for the 2 seconds of throttle while starting off.

 

mine did that, Mine squealed when i first started it or the motor got any revs, stopped when it warmed up. Turned out to be the alt starting to seize. Good luck

 

i could see the belt squealing but the noise is nowhere near the front of the engine. have i stumped you guys? come on i cant be the only one to ever have this happen?

 

you checked ALL the front end u-joints? driveshaft and axleshafts?

 

yep will look again when i get to the shop tomorrow if i have time to look at it.
