Strange grinding/slipping noise when accelerating in bone stock '00 Cherokee 4.0 2WD
I have had the Jeep since October last year and for a while when I "mat" it from a dead stop there is a strange grinding/slipping sound that goes away after I get up to speed. It only does it when I give it a lot of throttle from a dead stop. My belt was loose when I bought the Jeep (I could tighten the bolt on the side of my power steering pump with my fingers) but I have tightened it and it still makes the same noise. Now in the past week it sounds like something is loose. I'm at a loss. The belt is fine. I can not see any wear.
