straight pipe materials?
so i need to replace my cat, and i was thinking i might as well get a new straight pipe welded on while im at it.
so i need a new cat and i have a cherry bome glass pack on my stock system, so i was thinking y not dump the old piping and run a new exhaust (ill get a new exhaust manifold in the summer). so where can i get the stainless steel pipe for a straight pipe (cause the shops around here charge a fortune to weld up a straight pipe). in fact my dad told me that he put on a copper pipe on his old triumph back in britan and it was the best sounding thing he ever owned (he's owned 30ish cars, 12motorcycles, and 2planes). so besides stainless steel and copper and other good materials i could consider for the straight pipe? also what size pipe should i get to make it sound really loud? |
I CUT MY EXHAUST OFF AT THE CAT,INCLUDING THE CAT.THEN RAN A CHERRY BOMB WITH A TURN OUT BEFORE THE REAR TIRE AND I LOVE THE WAY IT SOUND.I ALSO HAVE A HOME JOBBY COLD AIR INTAKE WHICH ALSO HELPS THE SOUND.https://www.cherokeeforum.com/pictur...pictureid=2714

instead of a cold air intake, i was thinking of doing a homemad snorkel. would that improve the sound quality better then a cold air intake?

To be honest i couldnt tell you,ive never herd a snorkal on a cherokee.i wouldnt think it would be that much different from a cai.but i also want to do a home jobby snorkal
