Default Part Identification Request

So in the middle of my head rebuild and have found the item circled in red at the back of the head/top of the bell housing. And want to make sure it's doing what is suppose to be doing.

On the left should be the transfer case vent.

Not sure about the other one and want to make sure that I reconnect it or whatever. Looks like it has a filter on the end but nothing after that. AND it's dirty as crap.

Tracing it back from the top now.....but even if I know where it goes expert help is appreciated in advance.

The one on the left is the transmission vent and the POS one on the right is the TC vent. If you remove the TC vent you'll probably find that the shuttle valve inside of it is stuck (by sucking and blowing on it) You can use some MAF cleaner to try and clean it up.

I trashed mine and used an adapter to go from a 5/16" ID hose to a 1/4" ID hose and put a trans vent in its place.

Thanks...CCKen... was worried that this thing connected someplace else. I'll slap a vent on that thing and call this issue closed.
