Stock Fog Lamp Question (WITH PICTURES!!!)
So I was playing in the water one day and had two lights go out. One parking light, and one fog light. Took apart the parking light housing, dumped the water out of it, and put in a new bulb, all set there.
The fog lamp bulb is pristine, the housing is dry, no fuses are blown, wiring is fine as far as I can tell. I know, I need to dig my meter out to trouble shoot further. But what is this thingy?
It almost looked like a housing for one of those old glass fuses.
I stuck a screwdriver in the hole, it only goes in about 3/4" in. So what the heck does this dilly-doo-dad do?

Does it have a hole in it. If no wires are hooked to it I would asume some type of vent but why would there be a vent on a light unless its just in the housing. Are they stock lights or after market

No I got the black plastic *** off and then that other white plastic piece was capped off. There were also remnants of an 0-ring around it too.
Not really important in the least but somebody put it there for a reason..
Oh and stock.

it is indeed a vent. hen you turn the light on it gets very hot so the pressure has to be vented out. some fog lights have vent tubes an some have little plugs like that
