Okay well it been a month since i took it to a local shop for this same issue. well heres what i have replaced resently

After stalling started.
-fuel filter
-plugs
-wires
-tested starter and alternator
-battery

Started up fine and has ran for the past month spotless until last night. Well i was driving home after installing my new flowmaster 40, KN 9"6" air filter, and new tail pipe. Im about 20 miles down the road and it stalls. It happened as it slows from 55 down to 25(speed trap, i know). It clicked but didn't start. so i went underneath and kicked at the cat and tried to start it, nothing, and i repeated this 5-6 times. On the 6th time it started up. The reason i thought it was the cat is because it sounds like something is rattling. I know i need a new cat it just took longer to install the exhaust than I thought. Could this be the reason i am stalling??? That the block in the cat is falling apart and its somehow blocking exhaust flow.
