Default Sticky Passenger Airbag Cover

Has anyone dealt with this issue? My passenger side airbag cover is sticky and I tried to clean it with some Armor All but that made it worse. I was wondering if there were anything else to clean it, could I plasti dip it or is this just normal?

Try a little Dawn dish soap and a damp rag.

Most likely the material its made out of, probably some type of butyl compound. Certain types of solvents/acids and chemicals will break that material down over time and it gets sticky/nasty.

This isnt a joke, but smell it. If it stinks (like vomit) then that will confirm theres some form of butyl rubber in it and its breakdown is putting off butyric acid.

Didnt smell bad at all (or maybe I just can't smell due to all the pollen) I tried using some Dawn, took most of the stickiness off. But the color started to fade a bit so I just ended up plasti dipping the cover. Thanks for the help guys, I thought it was just me that had this problem.
