Sticking caliper
Front right caliper was binding on a little drive yesterday evening. By the time I got home it smelled like I was bbqing calipers for dinner and even had trouble backing into the driveway. Figured I'd clean it and lube the slide pin when time allows but figured I'd throw the problem up here to see if there are any common items to focus on.

Calipers are pretty (surprisingly) cheap - I'd consider replacing the caliper.
The most common issue is the ruts that form on the steering knuckle.
I had a caliper seize on my TJ several years ago and it acted just like you describe.
