can i change ny airbag steering wheel to a grant type wheel. seen adapters for 95 and older xjs . is the steering columns in the 96s different ? my steering wheel is worn out.

I would just get another air bag wheel... It could save your life one day.. Oh and in some places its illegal to remove

 

FYI.....If you remove the SRS(airbag) and are involved in an accident where the airbag would have deployed and you are injured, the insurance company will not pay and likely will sue you for damages to the other vehicle. Happened to my brother 5 years ago.

 

if anyone knows of a nice airbag steering wheel let me know the wrap on mine is half gone.

My 89 didnt have air bag, always a bit of a concern even though I really like the Jeep. Having been in accident vehicle when bags deployed, both vehicles write off, all occupants walked away. I really believe in the bags, recommend you keep yours active.
