Steering conversion question

Has anyone ever done a rack and pinion conversion on their XJ? Is it even possible?? :icon_eek:

Why, can't imagine a single benifit to that with a XJ.

where would you mount the rack and pinion?

cant mount mount it to the unibody, cause when the axle droops with will pull the tires inward

Cant mount it on the the axle cause there would be no good way to connect the steering shaft from the steering column to the rack,...

BUT!!!!

Full hydraulic steering looks pretty close to a rack and pinion
