Default Steering A Bit Loose

Hey guys, I just got my u-joint replaced on the right side, i can feel the difference it rides smoother and has less movment when i hit a pothole on the right. My steering wheel goes back straight. But yet it stills hard to turn. It takes a bit more effort than needed. Ive gotten used to it, but im considering that maybe I need a new steering box?? When my brother owned my Jeep a shop that i dont in particulary trust said it was 'broken', but id imagine on its way out at that. Wheel bearings, uppers & lowers are said to be fine by my current (trusted) mechanic... Has anybody had this problem or an input, thanks.

check all the front end parts for loosness, tie rod ends, drag link, track bar, and ball joints. also make sure your power steering fluid level is good.
