99 cherokee overdrive issue
my 99 sport isnt going into or staying in overdrive. it just started doing this yesterday ive had no other problems with the trans. i checked the fluid level and it was a little low so i added too it. drove it again and it still does it. if i take it out of drive and down to 3rd then back up to drive it will go into overdrive usually. im at a loss so i need some advice on this one lol

any check engine light?
if so, get it checked. if it shows a throttle position sensor issue, then that is likely the cause of your issues.
if the tps is reading "low voltage input" on the scanner, you could have a bad alternator...just had that happen. was causing throttle position, running, and shifting issues...while still charging the system at 1.2v rather than 12v.
