My 89 xj 4.0 is giving me fits. I've checked fuses, replaced the combination switch and nothing. It starts no prblem, my head lights work and my dash lights work. But my clock and radio wont come on and i have no brake lights or turn signals. not hazards and no clicky sound even. I've chased wires and fuses and still got nothing. Anyone!?!?!?

My 88xj does that my ign, switch sticks in the start position, try starting it and then turn the key to the run position see if that helps.

Brake lights and turn signals are connected I believe. Look down under your dash where your fuse box is. Look for two purple wires with a black stripe on the side. Make sure they are pushed in all the way. (They go into the same terminal, mine were towards the right side) They dont go into the fuse box, they go into the firewall directly behind the fusebox, so look behind the fusebox. Happened to me.

I changed the ignition switch too. Had some issues with it anyway so I hoped I would kill two birds along with the combo switch. I'm gonna check for those wires but what say you about my clock and radio? Why those too?
