starting issue help
 
i have a 89 jeep cherokee, it won't start....it cranks but not starting/firing... need help what to check to get it to start??:help:

I moved your thread to the proper section. Check the crank position sensor. When mine does not start, that is the first thing I check. The 1987-1991 era XJs used the Renix engine management system, and the CPSs are know to be a weak link in some cases. HTH!!

Yep....just had the same thing happen. This, for me was a double whammy. Turns out the inginition coil and the CPS were both bad. Took a little while to figure it out...but now she runs like a champ.
