ok i am starting to think the thump is coming from something with in my diffs, axles, or transfer case. reason why is it will only thump in 2 wheel drive not 4 wheel drive. Anyone willing to shed any light on this and if its any of these things how much am i looking at to fix it

 

When does it Thump? When you start? When you stop? When you are rolling then hit the gas?

Have you checked your U-joints? Cheap and a good place to start.

 

i can definetally hear it when i am braking but not sure if i hear it while accelerating at times i think i hear it very faintly

 

and if i hit the gas hard from a stop ill hear a rumble or a grind

 

Get on a flat surface, block your tyres up, put it in Neutral climb under and wiggle your drive shaft in all directions, including twisting it. If there is ANY play, its a trip to the parts store for an $11 u joint. Start by checking that and then work down the line
