Had the same problem about a week ago. Mine was the starter. Try tapping the starter housing with a wrench or something and then see if it will start. If not run through the gears if its an automatic a few times. Do the reverse lights come on? Mine looked to be the original starter with 250,XXX miles on it. I see you have 168XXX miles. Also do a search on here. I found out alot of info about starting issues. Everything thing from the NSS to the CPS.

it's not the problem. The volt meter on the heeps are that accurate AND they zero out when you have the key depressed for start. Seriously try to start it in neutral.

Do you have someone who can give u a jump start. If it is a low battery I would think it should jump start. Also do you have a voltmeter?

Run your transmission shifter thru all the gears. Then try to start it in park and neutral. It may be the NSS. Also, you can load test the battery to see if you have a problem there. Check the electrical connects at the battery and starter for clean and tight.

YES do a SEARCH (Search is your friend!) on NSS or Neutral safety switch. There are several threads here that will show you how to refurbish your switch for FREE. Otherewise it's over $100 to replace.

Before you start clip the zip ties as well. There are two of them one you can get from bottom and the other you can get from the top.
