start acting werid
 
I got 2000 cherokee I just Did a engine swap on Well I went put a new starter on it today and now When it starts it sounds like a squeal any ideas I double checked flywheel bolts yesterday before I put.in new starter for 100 mile retorq

In my non expertise advice id say the starter is having issues. When its squealing like that then i think it means the gear isn't retracting fast enough. and when it wouldn't start the second time then I think it might be the the gear isn't even engaging. Try replacing the starter or if its a new one then bring it back the the store and swap it out.

i took it off took it off and did it with it not in trans did fine

Yea but it might spin freely fine but when you apply a force to the gear then that might be your problem
