squeaks at low speed
Just like the title says. i replaced my serpentine belt and checked all my pulleys (all were fine). i think it may be one of my front axle u-joints making the noise bcz its definitely coming from the front. would a bad u-joint make the squeaking noise im hearing at low speeds or should i look into something else? TIA

mine squeaks all the time, I think one could be that the hardware for the caliper has worn to the point of it being semi-loose when the brakes arent on
I have noticed I get a slight squeak at low speeds when I am turning, it almost sounds like the rotor is warped
But with all the abuse my xj has taken, im not surprised it makes all sorts of noise

Does the squeak correspond to engine rpm or speed?
If speed then my guess would be u-joints in the front driveshaft. Pull you front driveshaft off and go for a short drive to see it anything changed. There is also a ball swivel in the double cardon joint that may need replaced/rebuild/lubed.
If the noise is louder or appears when turning I would guess axle u-joints.
If engine rpm related then you may have a bad pulley/bearing/component or your belt is not tight enough.

my compressor squeeks when i go slow. if you want to find it, spray some wd40 behind the pulleys, on the bearings areas. that is how i find which accessory needs some work if i cannot find it just by listening

Damn. and I've been afraid to come on here and try to explain a chirp type noise that I have also at low mph, sounds like it's coming for the center dashboard somewhere, can't quit place it......
Hope you guys figure it out soon, it goes right through your head when your having a bad day....lol

Squeeker
The first day I brought my Sport home I noticed a squeek I did not hear before. I pulled both drive shafts and repaced the U's on the rear and reinstalled it no more squeek. The front driveshaft was the problem so I started a search for a new one. The guy a NAPA sent me to Jacksonville Powertrain and they rebuilt the front with all new U's and the CV joint all Spicer stuff at a grand total of $164. No more squeek or vibration.
