Splash Guard
Hello. Might as well get to the point i was driving along and where the road i take to get to work floods from the sprinklers in this guys yard (yes florida this is normal in winter lol) so im like whatever and went through it and boom misfire paradise and dead in the puddle. It was maybe like a little lower than a foot of water but a couple years ago when it was owned by my mom she went over a stick in the road and pierced the splash guard and ripped the belt and it whipped it into the guard and tore it from under my jeep so it doesnt have a guard under there but i didnt think it was a problem because my way to work is under trees and rarely puddles go figure i hit that one and it stalls. So whats the best way to go with this? Junk yard guard, home made one from stainless steel, or a truck mudflap? i heard these are a pain to do and what tools would i need and any new parts like clips or plastic pin thingys like they use on the door panel? i dont want this to happen again it used to slip the belt alot but this time it hit the distributer and had to wait for it to dry and man when youre late for work you get hammered so i want to prevent this from happening again.

I own a '00. Not sure what years used this but I have a mat up front under the Jeep. It was mostly there but yanked it off anyway. Ran for the longest time without it. I am guessing this is what you are asking about. See the post below.

93_xjcherokee: that would prevent it getting wet alot? i just simply dont want to get stuck again thats all.
ralph77: yes thats it i think i never seen what it looked like or atleast cant remember but im guessing it is.
fred/noazz: i never know when he has the sprinklers on. and i know how deep it gets so i slow down to around 10 mph but this time it died and my theory is that guard is off and allowing it to get very soaked up under there.
madmanmarty: to my knowledge the wires should still be good they were replaced a year and a half ago and about to replace them in a few months here.
