Default New head for my 01 Cherokee

Ok I'm looking to get a new head for my Cherokee. Does it have to be from a certain year to work on my Cherokee?

I have a buddy that has one from a 97 wrangler that he only wants $100

Have to fab brackets for coil pack, and IIRC something about a sensor towards rear of head. You'd have to compare both on that issue.

If your engine good just buy a new head for it like most do for the 00/01's and the non-interchange on them.

Ok here's the thing
I bought a new head but everyone keeps telling me not to replace the head just do the motor.

The jeep runs fine, oil psi at hot idle is around 13 psi and goes up to 30-40 at driving. Just has coolant loss and it's going somewhere, no white smoke or milky oil.

I was planning on replacing the head today, what you think ?

sounds like you should do some more investigating...try to confirm its the head before you jump into that ordeal.

This has cooling system including cap been tested .20 dollar caps easier than replacing a cyl head.

After taking the head off I found a lot of coolant, so I picked up a brand new head.

Now I've ran into a issue I can't torque down the very back right bolt. Any tips ??

I use a 3/8" drive socket and torque wrench.

Some people have success using a 13mm 1/2" drive socket. They admit its sloppy, but it gets it done.
