Hey everybody i know i posted something about speakers already but i didn't get any tips off it, it just ended up to be a little fight lol but i need help im gonna hook everything up today and ill put a list of thing i have below. I wanna amp my two 6x9s in the back with a 400w 2 ch amp.

1) all the wiring
2) 400w 2ch amp
3) 2 4 way 6x9s
4) head unit with only 1 RCA hook up(for the sub)

Help me out i kinda know what im doing but i just dont wanna blow anything up. Now on the box of my 6x9s it says 200w speakers. Is that both combined? Or are they 200w each? So 400w total? Also how do i hook it all up? Do i run the RCAs to the amp then speaker wires from the amp to the speakers? Or do i connect the original sparker wires (coming from the head unit, thats also hooked up to the head unit) into the amp with another pair of wires going to the 6x9s. My head unit only has 1 RCA connection. Please help im just waited to get pushed into the right direction so i can get to work on it today. Thanks.

This is a little confusing is there only 1 or multiple? Does your amp have low or high inputs?
Search the web plenty out there:

Ok,So your stereo only has 1 rca output for subwoffer?
If that is the case you will only get low freq. To your amp, which is best used for subs only.
You will not get high freq. Such as trebel.
If your 6x9 are rated at 200wts then there good for about 100wts rms.
Same with amp. 400wt amp only 200wt rms maybe less maybe more. If it is a 2way amp its usualy designed for subs only.(2channel amp has 2 speaker connection outputs and 4chnl has 4 output connections.) 4chnl usually has more low, mid, and high tones/feq/sound.
Look over all the stickers and you should see a rms watt reading.
Never connect a amp with high watts to low watt speakers or you will damage them.
Just hook up the 6x9 to reg speaker wire from the stereo unit. And you should get clean crisp sound with high, med, and low tones/sound.

Yeah your not going to want to hook a sub signal up to a amp and run through a set of 6x9's you will get very little treble and more then likely blow the woofer out of the bye nines lol !

My 6x9s RMS power is 50w. And the high peak power is 200w. My head unit is 200w
