Default Spare Tire mounted on Cherokee Liftgate ?

Ive been searching google and the cherokee forums and havent found anything.
Has anyone mounted a full sized spare on the rear liftgate of a cherokee.. successfully? I know the struts would have to be upgraded, but it seems like it could work.
The bumpers with the swing out spare are annoying if you have to open the back up more than once a day.

i don't think you can get a strong enough mount or lift strut to work.

The liftgate does not have enough support built into it the carry the weight of a spare tire. Up to 96 the liftgate is fiberglass and 97-01 changed to steel. Even though your 00 has the steel liftgate the gauge of the sheet metal is to thin. By the time you fabbed up enough bracing and mounted the tire, I doubt you could find lift supports strong enough to hold it. Not to mention the extra strain on the liftgate hinges.

Too much other stuff in the cargo area to stuff a 32x11.50. I also have tried to keep the emergency spare in there too.
