A decent "volt meter 101"....I have an issue with the first paragraph, "There's only one decision you have to make: digital or analog? Frankly, it makes no difference which one you choose"

Really we want a digital. To see 10/ths of a volt, of if we have less than an ohm of resistance...pretty tough with an analogue.

BUT, a digital will read gibberish if what you are measuring is changing. To see a "sweep" from a MAP or TPS, or check (a Renix) 02, you need an analogue. (May well be there are high dollar digitals that will do that though).

Anyway, neat primer on some basics.

Btw, the $3-$4 DVM from Harbor Freight actually works OK, at least for a while. The leads are flaky, the display will start missing segments at some point, but they work. I actually tried the $2.99 meters from Ebay/China. HF holds the bar higher! (shin height)
