slip yoke eliminator and CV driveshaft
 
ok i want to lift to the 5.5 RE long arm kit but i keep hearing that i need a sye and cv drive shaft but even on there websites its not clear on how to order it and/or if i need both or one or the other. Can some one please break this down for me what i may need and how or where to order it. Thanks in advance.

its not a have to have item its good to get you can also drop the transfer case

you also have the hack and tap setup from iron rock off road the shaft is the best if youve done some mechanic work before

I think most would agree that with a 5.5'' lift a SYE is strongly recommended. A transfer case drop would serve a similar purpose, that is reducing driveline angles, but is not the optimal choice.

The part above in your quote that I put in bold was somewhat confusing to me. If you do decide to install a SYE, a CV drive shaft will be REQUIRED. You will no longer be able to use your stock rear drive shaft. So, if you go the SYE route, you will also have to obtain a CV drive shaft to mate the rear axle to the transfer case.

IMHO, if you are going to buy a nice kit like that you might as well do it right and get the SYE and custom CV drive shaft while you're at it.

you can also get the shaft and a front shaft from a jy xj should fit save a little do for more go
