Slack in Steering
i have some play at the U joint in the steering column on my 92 Cherokee. I checked the tie rod ends and all seems OK, no movement noticed, but I can feel a movement when turning slightly in the steering column. Any suggestions as to how to resolve this will be appreciated.

Had same problem on my 2000 I just bought used. I ended up going to the junk yard as it seems to have came from the steering wheel and what not up to the first u-joint. So I got a whole new column since my clockspring was bad too. Hopefully this one has a good clockspring.
I'm waiting to hear back from someone on if I can just swap the Lock Cylinder and the 'SKIM' piece to make it work with my old key, before I do the work. The one at the junk yard before I took it out was soooo much tighter. It was nice. So hopefully this fixes MOST of it.
