Default Should I piece together my own 3.5" lift?

I'm wondering if I could for less than the price of the Rubicon Express.
I don't exactly know all of what I will need as I am an idiot in relation to automotives.

I already found a guy who has new RE 3.5" coils for $120.

Do you guys think I could do it?

I don't have more than $700 to spend.

Well,, if you can find the piece for cheaper than the kit, go for it. BUt who knows if you will or will not need a T-case drop or a SYE kit.

if you have time you could do it for cheap!!! do listen to him.... if you obviously dont have the funds then wait and piece it together, you will get the same outcome only save a lot of money!!

I would say piece it together and save $$ but then I also would say just save for RE's full kit, it has everything except sye.

Soo.....do what you want I pieced together my 4.5/5" lift for less than 600 bucks and that includes sye.

Takes alot of patience and browsing the for sale forums and online stores for good deals.

I have been thinking about this too. And I have decided to wait until I can buy the complete kit and know that I have all the right parts. $700.00 should more than cover the cost of lifting 3.5" or 4.5" for that matter.....JMO

piecing together is a good way to save cash if you can find good used pieces for good prices. Also as blue said takes time. If you are in no bug hurry yes look for the main components on the cheap like the springs, but things like shocks and steering components I am not one for buying used. Just keep one thing in mind when buying used parts if it fails it could mean life and death or serious injury so be very careful as to what parts you guy used.

The Super low budget Lift is Dakota springs and Grand cherokee coils with the Poly spacers up front...good for about 4" of lift. Probally the way im going to go as my funds are LOW!! And because this is a want not a need.
