Which shocks to run????
I am definitely purchasing the Rubicon Express 3.5" super ride lift kit but was wondering what other shock options were out there besides the monotube shocks they offer to purchase for like $300. And when searching for shocks should I be searching 3" lift shocks or 4" lift shocks?

http://www.4x4groupbuy.com/store/rub...0s-p-4903.html will get you the lift for $584.95 and an upgrade to monotubes for $90. Shipping will be about $130 or so depending on your location.
So...your lift will be $804.95 shipped to your door with monotubes. What is your budget anyway? It is only $90 more for the monotubes. Maybe you should think about saving up another little bit to get the shocks it sounds like you want anyway.
Now...if you are planning to go add-a-leaf (not recommended by the majority on this forum due to sagging later on old leafs), you can get the RE Super-Ride RE6020 with Monotubes for 559.94 here http://www.4x4groupbuy.com/store/rub...es-p-8510.html. Maybe shipping will be a bit cheaper as they aren't sending full leaf packs, but even if shipping was still $130, you're entire lift would be $689.94.

585 for the lift, but then another $245 for the shocks coming in at $829 (or $25 more than the quote on my initial email.
Man, I'm not trying to tell you where to go or what to buy. My advice is to do your research. Check out jeepinoutfitters (I'm assuming that is where you got that quote with free shipping), 4x4groupbuy, and there is also a guy here who has been really good to work with named Joe. His handle is EndlessMtnFab and he is a distributor for Rubicon Express. I'm sure there are other places, I just don't know them.
If all you want is to know which shocks to run, do a thread search. This topic has been discussed time and time again. I'm sure you'll get your answer. I have a feeling that your decision is based on finances, so you might just want to get the shocks you can afford for right now, then spend the extra $300 when you get it.

Get the longer 4.5" shocks. You won't bottom them out and XJs droop more than they flex up.
That and shock length won't be a factor if you wanna add an inch.
Wait another week and get the monos. I run them and IMO it's what makes a decent riding lift kit into a great riding kit. Honestly with the monos and my shackle angles good and LAs at 7" of lift mine damn near rides like stock. If I through some cheap twin tubes in it I'd prolly rather drive my lifted Bronco! Lol.
Don't go AAL either. Been there done that. Wasted money.

i get paid twice a month one the 15th and the 30th so each paycheck gives me an extra 500-600 of spending money for the lift kit but i will also need the adjustable trackbar the transfer case drop kit and some nice 31's on a different set of wheels because i wanna keep my stocks to be able to pass inspection with

4Wheelonline.com has that kit for $555 w/free shipping. Ordered it last Saturday, got it on Thursday. I ordered Pro Comp shocks. I know there going to be a little rough riding from what I read but I didn't want to spend any more at this time and shipping was also free.
