Of the many things folks will recommend, I'll start with something simple: wheel balancing.

If you were in mud recently (yesterday) it could have dried in one spot an now throws off the balance. In winter, a similiar thing happens with snow and ice.

But also...a weight could have fallen off a wheel. Had that happen recently. No shimmy, but a wheel did look wobbly. Just had new rims mounted and balanced and issue gone.

Good Luck.

Wouldn't a weight cause it to shimmy all the time?

He may only feel it when turning. My wheel wobbled bit I didn't even feel it.
