shift problem?
 
My 2000 cherokee I just got afew weeks ago. today I tryed shifting the transfer case. Got into 4 high but cant seem ti be able to pullit back to 4 low. I lubed the linkage is their a trick to getting it in I have no manual for the cherokee to refer to. Any thoughts, Ideas. Thanks

also my Jeep does it sometimes. I think it's a bit hard, but try to move it softly and easy. I had this with a 1986 Toyota Land Cruiser ...

It may be out of adjustment. Loosen all the linkage under the Jeep.I put mine in 4Lo manually underneath the Jeep and then put the linkage in 4Lo from the cabin. Went under again and tightened the linkage back up and have had no problems since and that was three years ago.
Try that as they slip and wear from everyday use and the wear in the transfercase.

Pull the shifter back to 4 high, then you push it across right and back :thumbsup:to go into 4 low, make sure you are in park or neutral though.

Also after you put in the 4hi you may have to put the jeep in gear then back to neutral to shift down any more if you put it in 4hi and leave it for a few..That's how mine works anyways..
