sheared upper control arms in half
That's right,I went wheeling this past weekend and about two o'clock saturday I heard a pop and some other nasty noises.Took a look and both upper control arm's sheared in half.Ended up finding a guy with a welder,we then cut my rear home made square stock bumper off and made new arm's out of the old pieces and the bumper, then wheeled till the sun rose.It was a thing of beauty.
But now I would like to buy the correct upper control arm's for a 4.5" lift set up.I was looking at rusty's and was wonder if any body had any complaints about them.
I also bent my tie rod pretty bad and was wondering where to get a beefier one,I HAVE heard several comlaints about rusty's tie rod's so any other suggestion would be good.Thank,s

As for upper control arm mounts I'm not sure. I would think get some steel and make some. For the tie rod you want one that is at least 1.25 DOM tubing with a 1/4" wall. The main problem is the tierod ends. Rusty's reuses XJ ones. You want at least ones for a V8 ZJ. They bolt in and are stronger. Check out the Ruged Ridge System. Some people like it some don't but It seems pretty good to me.

Correst on all Issues. I have a set of RE adj ones in my garage that I use onb rigs before I really lift them up. I also have a rig running the RK 3 link setup and I must say that stuff is pure beef.
As for steering go with the v-8 zj mod, then after you mess that up invest in a quality OTK setup.
