Several small problems, please help.
Hello, I'm completely new to this site (posting-wise...I read it religiously tho) and I was wondering if anyone could help me with some small problems I'd like to fix for low $$.
I have a '90 xj laredo, anyways...the bad stuff.. - windshield wipers wipe, but no fluid (can't hear motor click at all) - rear wiper doesn't move, but clicks (I know how f:censored:d up is that^^!!!) - visor lights don't work...don't know if its the bulbs or what - overhead console lamps don't work either (though the compass at temperature part wosk...on occasion lol) -power locks don't work and now the biggie that really grinds my gears... all my power windows are extremely slow (though sometimes they are speedy)...I kid not when I say that sometimes they take a minute to go up or down and thats sometimes only halfway! I'm not sure if it's the weatherstipping, motor, wiring, or regulators but they're dirt slow. I was thinking of just ripping off the doors of a sport with manual windows since I'm doing a mod to the door panels to match my moded interior...in that case what wires could I just get rid of?? HELP!! (btw sorry for this being long its just I wanna get this small stuff done now before I get into my engine stuff.) Thanks! |
First off, welcome to cf. Second, for all your problems(except slow windows) check the fuses. Third, my windows go rather slow as well. I'm not sure why, but i think its probably the motors or corrosion slowing down the mechanisms. Also, what are you doing to the interior?

I've done custom interior lights, what are you planning for them.

Probably red LED as well. maybe just the rear dome light though. already have the LEDs for the gauges. Need to figure out what bulbs fit into the overhead console lamps though...

On the windows, try greasing the track and regulators first. May just be gummed up from the old grease
