Seat Replacement for 89 XJ
 

Well the driver side seat broke at the welds that hold the seat in place, and I want to replace them with other jeep seats, but what other year is a direct fit? I have power seats but dont mind manual seats as a replacement.

I believe that anything up to a 94 the seat bracket that bolts to the floor will pretty much bolt right in, manual or power. Someone else feel free to back me up.

Can the seat be taken off the frame that bolts to the floor? My seat is in good condition I just need the metal part under the seat. If not I might just go to the junk yard saturday to find a replacement. Hope they have it in my color.

Yes it can. I recently replaced my drivers side seat bracket but kept my original seat.
