Seafoam
I've read from various articles that seafoam can help clean the engine and was wondering what people's opinions are on using seafoam to clean the engine as well as how to do it. If it helps I have an '01 Cherokee sport with the 4.0L, auto transmission, recently replaced the spark plugs. Close to 160,000 miles

Thanks for the links. I have used the search feature and ended up at various threads that just mentioned the word sea-foam, which didnt help me to understand how to use the product or the benefits of it.

Put a can in my tank last month and I swear that tank of gas lasted me the longest since I can remember.Jeep runs fine and I thought about putting some in the oil before a change but my engine is clean so overkill isn't necessary.

Welcome to the boards. What you want to do is run a 1/3 - 1/2 can through the brake booster (major vacuum line) with small constant pours while idling in a open air area. The last pour you want to almost stall the engine out completely stall it out. If it does not stall out then just turn her off and let it sit for atleast 15 mins.. Then turn her on and watch the show. You will see a huge plume of smoke come out the back. Any questions then just ask but its a pretty easy job..
Hey crystalion, I would not suggest putting seafoam in the crankcase. Keep it through the intake and gas tank. When put through the crankcase you run a serious risk of getting to much gunk loosened and now you have caused more harm then good. I see you decided not to but just incase anyone comes across your post I just wanted to add my 2 cents... My opinion ofcourse..

The line from the brake booster, hence the name. The brake booster is the big round thingy that your master cylinder thingy is attached to on the driver side firewall thats attached to brake pedal thingy which stops the whole thingy.....................

If it put out that much smoke, what does it do to your converter? Just a question. I plugged one up years ago, because I ran out of gas during the gas crunch of the late '70s. I put in 75-1 premix from my race bike, and killed the converter.
