Default Safely Removing the Fuel Rail From a 1991 Laredo 4.0L

I am planning to install a new set of fuel injectors on my 1991 Jeep Cherokee Laredo 4.0L as soon as they arrive by USPS Priority Mail this coming week, but am concerned about bending, kinking, or breaking the fuel rail during the removal attempt as I had tried twice before to remove them, but without any success in both cases. I'm reluctant to use my pry-bars as they are made of steel & have a good chance of causing unwanted damage to said fuel rail. How can I remove the injectors from their bores in the intake manifold without causing said damage to the fuel rail & be able to re-use them again if I absolutely have to? Any ideas, anyone?

Welcome to CF!
I just went thru this on my Jeep. Not sure your the fuel rail is the same as mine or not tho. I removed the bolts holding the rail to the intake. Mine injectors were in both the rail and intake pretty tight. They will come loose tho by pulling with steady pressure by hand. If you wanted maybe you could spray some intake/throttle body cleaner around the seals to help free them up. They are tight but they will come loose, Good luck!

Just pry the injectors out of the intake and then yank them all out of the fuel rail. You won't damage anything that way. I've done it that way alot.

Btw it doe's take alot to bend a rail. They arent made out of a soda can.

Thanks for the helpful suggestions thus far...when I've finished the injectors replacement, I'll post the test results.

I'll be really interested in hearing the results; I'm considering this for my '91.

Just an update: got the new injectors installed, after removing the old ones...found that Fabulous Parts Blaster works like a charm to break the fuel rail & manifold injector bores' hold on all the old injectors...test ran the Blue Beast after finishing the work in what felt like record time...runs like a top & the fuel level gauge showed hardly a drop in level in just over 15 miles of driving the Adaptive ECU Drive Cycle Loop route around my local area...needless to say I'm pleased with the results.
