?s about Steering stabilizer and TC drop
This is my first TC drop and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions. Also installing HD steering stabilizer but cant get the tie rod end out. I have the nut off but the bolt is stuck. Help! Its on a 96 XJ with 4.0 and auto.

Use PB Blaster or another rust penatrent on the crossmember bolts for a few days before you do the job. Make shure not to brake any of those bolts when you take them out.
As for a HD stabilizer, You should not have to remove the tie rod end. just unbolt the old stabilizer and bolt the new one on in its place.

Ok with the steering stabilizer, unbolt bolth ends. take the end out of the axle and move it around to see if that loosens it up and frees it from the steering linkage. Sometimes a light tap from a hammer will help free it.
Yes, the crossmember bolts have nuts welded in the frame rail.

the end of the stabilizer is coned shaped and I just hit it with a hammer on the tie rod and then just smacked the old bolt out.

I had trouble getting the end of the stabilizer out also once also. I pounded on it with a 3lb sledge till it came loose then I had to grinde down the stud a little cause I pounded it so hard it flattened the end and it wouldnt go thru the hole.
As for the T-case Drop ...PB blaster and fire. The driver side stud came out like butter with a large channel lock pliers. The passenger did not, what I wound up doing is grinding the stud and making two flat sides and using a adjustable wrench in it. That worked surprisingly well for me.

to remove the steering stabilizer cone stud, you can use a tie rod puller, or just use a bfh and hammer the drag link bulge at the stud. that should do it, you may need to use some heat, but not likely.
