yup with a 4 inch lift you can put 33's under it with some trimming and some nicely backspaced rims. i think xj's look really good with that combo, the tire fills up the wheel well nicely and has that low center of gravity but wide (cuz of the 12.5 tires) kinda like a bulldog. i think it looks tough.

Definitely gonna need some trimming, and then it's all about having the right wheel. Stock wheels won't work......need 4" of backspacing, or even 3.75".
I'm about to lift mine (been assembling free parts as I can get them for the past 6 months), and I'm going to go with 32's or 33's. Going up 4-4.5 inches.

They will "work" but, 12.50 is pretty wide for stock rims, BFG makes a A/T 33x10.50x15. You can make them work with wheel spacers and curved LCA's (Such as WJ LCA's or Upper Rear CA's from a JK)

Currently I'm not running them. Rubbing isn't "bad" while turning (Due to the 10.50 width) but I'm sure you'd need to trim and bumpstop for the height of the tire. Again, most 33's are 12.50" wide, but a few manufacturers offer 10.50" as the width. Personally, width of the tire isn't something that concerns me as much as the height. Skinny tires do much better in snow and ice too.

Oooh yea..you wanna have atleast a little backspacing to be safe. Your gonna rub no matter what if you do any sort-of hard off-roading. Spacers might help but I wouldn't really recommend those either.
