Runnin on front D/S only????
So how many of y'all have installed a SYE on your DD? while you were waitin on the T/W driveshaft....were you able to run on the front D/S for the week or two that it took to get your nes DS?
Personally I can't see a reason why it would hurt....just thought I'd bounce it off of others before I did something stupid????
Thanx....Scott

Ya you can get it home with no rear ds driving in front wheel drive. Dont just drive it around like that. Once it gets to the driveway it should stay there till the rear is back in

you should be able to use a front driveshaft from an automatic xj in the rear with your sye.
i know a couple guys that drove their xj/zj with front ds only for about a month. also waiting for rear driveshafts.
no problem, it's not gonna hurt anything. just don't be heavy on the skinny. you have the larger u-joints, so you should be fine.
just remember to cover the tailstock of your transfer case so you don't loose your fluid.

you can drive as long as you want in FWD. did it for 2 months in my TJ while building my 8.8.
everything will work as it should if you were in 2WD, still spinning.

two guys that work here have done it. just dont drive too much and when you have the new rear d/s change the front u-joints too. but you will be fine.

i've always seen it as being kind of a bad idea personally. i did however drive it with no front ds and the rear ds for a while which is fine.

YA i did it for a few months and raacked up 2500 miles in part time because i had no rear and it was fine for awhile but it finally took its toll on the transfer case. so ya you cann do it for a couple weeks or even a month but dont go longer than that
