Rubbing tires, suggestions for springs and shocks
 

Ok so I suspected I would have an issue or two and I do.

Today I had 235 75 15 mounted on 15 by 8 with a 3.75 backspacing.

I've got rubbing on the front right during some turns and the back end bottoms out on bumps.

Love the look. I chose a Federal on a Black Rock so I just really want the suspension to handle the tires. Not looking to do a lift unless I have to and then if I do, only 2 to 3 inches.

I do have flat leaf springs and could use a new set of shocks all around. I think this may be enough for a fix.

I'm not sure how to choose the shocks and what size to get.

If u don't plan on lifting it, just get OEM spec shocks

Unless you lift and bump stop your going to rub as you have your wheels pushed too far out and they are no going into the fender like factory but hitting the flare.

shocks have nothing to do with the front tires rubbing when you turn. is it rubbing the fender flare? im running 32s with 3.75 and no rubbing at all.

new leafs in the rear will help the tire from bottoming out and so will the proper bumpstops since youre sitting at stock height and dont have as much up travel as a lifted jeep.
your shocks might not even be the problem.

Shocks will not lift a vehicle. Unless they are air shocks.

Your wheels are too wide.

235s fit just fine on stock Jeeps with factory wheels. Some even get away with 7" wheels most of the time.

If you want to keep the wheels, lift the Jeep.

Is the jeep in your sig the one running those tires and wheels? Or do you have a pic?

Here is a pic I took, still had the rims and tires and stuff loaded in the back but the back is low as can be seen. This driver side front doesn't rub. I believe the pass side fender is tweaked enough to cause the front rub.

Later will be replacing both fenders and driver door.

i obviously aint rubbing my fenders at all. i wasnt sure where you meant you were rubbing but i can kinda see it now.
it definitely looks like your rear is sagging a little. barely any space for the rear tire for any up travel when you hit even the slightest bump. id work on getting new leafs first or making a bastard pack from the local junkyard. and youll probably have to trim your front fenders a little bit depending on how much they rub and where.

Looks like you need new leafs/coils or a lift kit and no more issues. A 3" full leaf/coil/shock/hardware package $438 from Rustys all made in NA with high quality springs.
