RTV Intake/Exhaust Manifold Gasket?

Do you guys normally rtv this gasket?

I was told to put a thin coat of copper rtv on both sides of the intake/exhaust manifold gasket and then torque to spec.

Would you guys do this? If yes, I can't find copper rtv. Only red high temp. Can I use this instead?

No RTV is needed. I suppose a very thin bead of copper RTV will not hurt but I would not use any other type.

Too late.

RTVed it.

For future reference the copper gadget sealer is not RTV but more like a spray paint. Works to help seal the exhaust and intake gaskets.

I just hope the rtv burns off and the gasket holds it.

Really don't feel like pulling it off again and grinding all that rtv off.

Vehicles were built for years and sealed just fine without that goop.

Rub it in some more. Haha.

That's seriously my last time ever using rtv. I hate the stuff.

I should buy a can of that copper spray gasket stuff.

You're a dry kind of guy?

I used to even rtv waterpumps. I've since opted to spend the $3 on the fancy fel pro gasket.

Much cleaner.

GasgaCinch for water pumps. Or even Indian Head Shellac.

Nuttin on intake'exhaust gaskets.

I built a Nissan Patrol engine with factory gaskets using only wheel bearing grease on each side of the gaskets (except head and manifold). No leaks after 20 years.

I used RTV Copper on mine. Helps if your engine block where the manifolds mount is *****ed up, or the manifold mounting surfaces themselves.
