I'm looking into purchasing a 1996 Jeep Cherokee Classic. The dealer said that it has a rough idle . . . well he said "it runs kind of rough when you're at a stop sign or stop light or something" lol I took that to mean "rough idle".Is there anything common to this particular model that would cause this or do I just need to have a mechanic diagnose?

 

Well we would need to know exactly what it does to be much help. I think the engine size would help too (If it was an I6, V6, etc).

 

Could be the TPS or IAC...

We recently saved someone from paying 2+k for a new engine because some bum mechanic tried to rip him off.

 

Well unfortunately he never called back. I'm going to assume that that is a bad sign and keep looking!
