rough country
I've been looking at getting a 4.5" lift from rough country with new leaf springs. however i hear on here and everyone i talk to tells me rough country is crap, is this true? i mean i understand that RE is better, but its a lot more expensive, and is rough country really that bad?

I have never heard that RC is crap, I have their 3" kit with the full leaf packs and I love it. It's all really well built stuff, and it was priced very well too. If you can't afford the RE kits, then you shouldn't have any problems with an RC kit, especially on a budget. You certainly get alot for your money.

You are gonna hear stuff about every lift out there that is bad. I have Rusty's and have had no problem but I hear alot of complaints from others and more on the good side. But to each is own I say.

Don't believe everything you hear cause everyone will have their own opinion. Rough Country makes a good lift. The springs are solid and reliable. Now you will get different thoughts on the shocks they sell, some say they are smooth some say rough. Don't quote me but I do believe they are made by the same company that makes Rusty's,RE's low end, Rancho and a few others bya company called Doetsch Tech..I have been told by many that the Nitro rides better then the Hydro.. Now my suggestion would be to call RC directly and talk to Grimus and I wish I knew his non forum name..He can give you the exact shocks you need for what you want them to do.
RE makes a good lift as well and yes they cost more but they are more complete IMHO. Now the RE Twin Tube shocks ride rough and I have had many others tell me they had the same experience I had. My next set of shocks this summer will be some Bilsteins.

Just because they are made in the same factory does not mean they are the same. When a company like RE or RC has their springs built they are built to their specs and ones specs will differ from another. So quality can vary as well.

I got the 4.5 kit from www.4wdtruck.com, came with disconnects, brakelines, and adjustable control arms for $909 shipped. I have to install drop brackets yet but just driving around town I have no complaints. I also spent many days and nights reading about the different lifts on here and came to one conclusion----- just buy what you want because there is something wrong with every kit. I don't remember where but I also read on here "parts is parts"
