Typically the RTT is mounted to either a flat roofrack or crossbars such as a Thule setup. These attach to the gutters, you wont be able to use your factory crossbars, not sturdy enough.
Which RTT model are you considering?
Keep in mind an RTT although easy and quick to setup can be annoying to do every morning if your leaving camp everyday. The ticket is mounting to a small trailer like a Military M416.
