I was in the same boat when i first saw the price of some of the roof racks, found a fellow CF member who had a less then year old Surco with mounting hardware, Hella lights and rear rock crawler lights, and a spare tire holder for $315 shipped to my door.
If i was you i would just look for a used rack, maybe on craigslist or ebay?

I have a Surco that was bought used for $100 so that proves you can find bargains out there. It came from another member on a different forum before CF was started.

That is nice! I didn't see Cherokee listed in the fitment guide though. Will it work?

You need the defender brackets, which cost an additional $80 plus no jeep listed.

For the money Surco is the way to go. I have had mine for almost 3 years and have used it to haul everyting from Bicycles to tree stands. No issues. I made my own tire mount and jack mounts. If your gonna mount your spare up top, I suggest buying there tire mount. Mines is a bit noisey, theres is alot more quiet. I need use some aluminum diamond plate and plated the sides of mine.

That's the best damn rack setup i've seen yet

except for those over in backstage.

XJjeepthing, do you ever make any modification that does NOT look so damn good? Sell me your jeep already!
