roof rack question
I've been looking for a roof rack for a while and came across this on craigslists. the guy said it came on his jeep and knows nothing about it. does anyone know which brand it is? does it look like a good rack? to me it looks a little cheap, i'm going to look at it friday but wanted some opinions of people who maybe have a rack like this. thanks.

if u can weld or know a buddy who can weld you can make what u want/need for less than that. my buddy made i killer rack out of 1" square and it hasnt failed yet, im thinking about "borrowing" it from him. lol

sorry to hijack your thread but can anyone tell me the advantages/devantages to the two kinds of attachment systems for roof racks (gutter mount vs rail mount).
I like the rail mount look but i heard gutter mount was better for some reason

I would ask him how old it is and the brand. But like the others, 300 is steep. I got mine for 50 bucks off CL. I cut it in half and extended it for just a few bucks more.

im not sure but im thinking the rail is less stable because the rail is only held on by a like 6 or so pretty lame screws. while the gutter mount is clamped, welded, whatever strait to the body. kinda cuts out the middle man with the rails.

I wouldn't pay that especially since it looks pretty beat up. I would keep your eyes open and remember you can buy a brand new one for only $20 more.
