Default Roof Gutter Rail Fix?

My 2000 XJ Roof Gutter Rail is loose. I need a fix. Please help.

Uh that shouldn't come off, it's sheet metal that's part of the body.

Probably referring to the trim piece that clips onto the gutter.

Theres plastic pieces that cover the gutter-upper part, Ive always wondered if I can remove them so my rack mounts are not mounted to plastic ??

The trim pieces are aluminum. At least they were on my 96. They're just clipped, firmly, onto the gutter. My 96's had started to fall off on their own because of some rusting that was happening to the gutter.

However, roof rack gutter mounts shouldn't be placing any load on the trim piece whether it is there or not. I've never seen one that does anyway.
