Rewiring Speakers

First off I'm new to the forums and wanted to say Hi.

Anyways, the reason why I'm here, I just tried to install a new Kenwood stereo, and four new Pioneer speakers in my Jeep. The problem was that I wasn't getting any sound sound, period. So, I put my stock stereo back in and now only the rear speakers work. I'm pretty sure that my speakers are good, and I'm sure that my stereo is good, by I'm thinking that my wiring may be bad somewhere. So, I was wondering could I just snip the speakers wire from behind the stereo to replace it or is there some kind of amplifier that the wire is run into. It's a 2001 Jeep Cherokee Sport, and I'm pretty sure that I do not have the Infinity System. Thanks for any and all help.

first ooff if you don't have an infinity system than there will be no amplifier so are you sure you don't have it. second if you are using the aftermarket wire harness adapter you shouldn't need to snip anything

The front factory speaker wires have a tendency to go bad somewhere between the kick panel and the back of the speaker. I had the same problem in my '00 Sport, I just ran new wires from the speakers through the door jam right behind the kick panel. You shouldn't have to run them all the way from the head unit. Worked for me....best of luck to you!

same as the above. when i did my speakers i found out that my passenger door speaker wire was split in at least one spot ( i say that kuz i found one break, fixed it, and still didnt have continuity in the wire) so i just ran a new wire from my Alpine deck to the speaker. reallly easy and quick fix.. should work for u.
