Reverse problems
Some problems started yesterday. I think transmission related. I backed out of my driveway and when I got to the curb, the back wheels off the curb it wasn't in gear any more. Drove it around yesterday to the store and back and it was running a little rough. I stepped on it lightly and it did fine in drive. Transmission has never been replaced and it has 171K. Any idea what it could be? I just did some work to the engine and it was smooth after that.
I drove the crap out of it the day before after firing it back up after months, city and highway with no issues whatsoever.

Overdue and not low but on the lower end. Don't think it's ever been changed, maybe once in it's life. My father owned the Jeep before I bought it and he drove it like an old lady.

Drain it. There's a plug in the pan.
Refill with 4 quarts of Dex/Merc rated fluid. See what happens. Repeat as needed.

You don't think the trans is taking a crap on me?
The one thing I noticed after driving it that first day was a thunk coming from one of the wheels, I don't think it's related but I could be possible I guess. It sounded like it was during every wheel rotation but wasn't too bad.
