there good, bulbs good too. Sometimes I put it in reverse and they come on but I have to wiggle the shifter and they turn on sometimes.

Remove, clean & reinstall the neutral safety switch.

^^^^^ follow every direction in the link! I just cleaned mine and it works great! Use the dielectric grease on the connection in the engine bay.

I just got in the habit of using dielectric grease whenever I open connections.

The problem is not the connector in the engine bay, its the one down on the shaft.

But to answer your original question, (since if you decide to clean your NSS, you will need to put it back and do the following anyway): yes you can adjust the NSS, in fact you will likely need to, since it's position will also determine if you can start in Park and Neutral.
There is a adjustment screw that you can loosen, turn the NSS on the shaft till in the correct position and tighten again. Correct position: it will start in Park and Neutral, and reverse lights come on.

I never said the connection in the engine bay was a problem. Its just a good idea to put dielectric grease on the connection since its apart.
