hi can anyone tell me where the rev counter plugs into the alternator.

sorry i'm british: ) the dial behind the steering wheel next to the speedometer that tells you your "revolutions per minute". cheers, liberation

The "tachometer" is connected through the coil to the computer so I would imagine it would go from the computer to the guage, the computer is on the front of the driverside feder well.

no need to apologize, I spent a while in London with some friends, but never came across that

in US english its called a tachometer

Anyways as stated above, there is a hall effect sensor inside the distributor to measure the speed of rotation, I think this one controls the ignition coil as well

cheers just changed the distributor cap, maybe i knocked something!
