Resevoir Shocks

I just bought a Rubicon Express 3.5 Super Flex Kit today. I was wondering if resevoir shocks would fit without custom shock mounts. The guy at the store was saying no... I'm not sure though...

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply guys! I actually bought some RS9000 XL's. Is that a decent shock or should I return them for some others?

I don't want to have to drive back to the store, but if the shocks suck I will exchange them. Do you think some fox resevoir shocks will fit?

they are good units and adjustable maybe a little rough for a xj but if you adjust them to the softest setting they should be fine. the fox's are super nice but are not a direct bolt in

So is there any resevoir shock that is bolt in to the XJ? Or, have any of you guys had luck with other brands?

I'm not just sure abot the Rancho's. I got them for $83 per piece.

the 5150 have an adapter for the front so they are the closest to bolt in i know of

for probably 95% of the resivoir shochs you will need to get bar pin eliminaters to run that style shock because all the ones ive seen dont have barpins but the barpin adapters are pretty easy to find

So should I stick with the RS9000's for now?

They were only $83.

I really wanted a Fox Shock or better, but for the money it may not be worth it.

Sorry to keep asking, but I want to install my kit without having to fab up mounts or buy all sorts of random parts.

all good shocks (except the bolt-in TJ foxs) require the stem mount conversion for up front. JKS makes the best/beefiest one and is offset properly for XJ mounting, and theyre bolt in

the RS9000s are terrible in my opinion. if youre not doing building the rig for high speed only, then 5150s are the way to go. the best bang for your buck shock for mild rigs. i run them at all 4 corners and theyre awesome. theyre only 100 bucks each too.

Only $100/each? $400 just for shocks is pretty pricey if you ask me.

going cheap is not an option in my book. theyre worth every penny and im considering upgrading in the future.

Yeah $200 twin tubes suck I wish I had spent the extra $200 and purchased good quality shocks the first time..Now it's going to cost me $600..
